Should I leave the store tag on if I buy a bris gift from TJ Maxx or Marshall’s because they are discount stores?

Are you giving her the option to return?

I would take off the tag unless giving it with a gift receipt, in this specific situation

Why?
Does it bother you that they didn't spend as much as it should be?

What circles are you from that people need to spend more on baby clothes than what I buy for myself?
I would be more than happy with a gift from tjmaxx I don’t see the issue.

This makes me curious as well.
Whats a regular store?
What does it mean you would be turned off if you got a free gift from tjmaxx?
I couldn't help but notice this comment when I skimmed through.

bergdorf goodman? 🤣
Please leave the tags in case it’s not the right size or style.
I would also leave the receipt but that’s me.

Just do people realize. If you get a gift from a “discount/value “ store, the person is probably spending the same amount as they would otherwise, just getting you more value. I’m still spending the same $25/40…. Whatever I decided to spend, I’m just getting you a better gift for the same money.
I would leave the tag on as otherwise, as the recipient I would be less sure it was new or think it was definitely regifted.

really? If not it’s not good enough? I’m glad I don’t run in those circles.
BTW- Nordstrom always has cute pjs with matching blanket and hat at good prices. Something basic so very much needed
The best gift I ever got was a pack of diapers and wipes.

In my circle it is common to give someone a gift that they got for their baby and could not use.
I am always surprised when someone gave me a gift with a receipt because that means they went to the store and brought something. Something not very common in my circle.

Personally I would not mind a TJ Maxx gift. Or a regift. I do it and got them and loved those gifts. Sorry but what am I to do with a baby gift given after my son outgrew it? I would rather another baby enjoy it now before it goes out of style than to collect dust in my closet until one day maybe I have another baby boy... plus I am happy someone thought of me and gave me anything.
But for those from those circles where it is unheard off (I can't imagine) leave the tag but rip it in a way so they can't see the store name. So they know it is new.

I would leave the tag on but cross off the price with thick permanent marker, and would also leave a gift receipt.

You would be turned off by a gift?! What a spoiled sense of entitlement!

I would remove the TJ tag, but leave the company tag if there is one.

Leave the tag - if someone gets from a discount store it's because they got a good deal or that's what they can afford, and there should be nothing but gratefulness either way.

How does that help? They would not be able to return it that way. What would be the point other than to make it look like your spent more?

I see nothing wrong with gifting from tjs and I’m happy to get anything but I realized I feel better giving a 25$ paci clip from the local store (prettt bag and exchange slip included then a stretchie set from a discount store.
