My daughter just turned a year old and has never taken a pacifier. She goes to sleep with a bottle and I sometimes find her sucking it in middle of the night - when there’s nothing left in it anymore. She was really tired today and snuggling on me but very kvetchy, I found a paci lying around and gave it to her. She loved it and immediately her eyes started closing. My question is, if she doesn’t need it to fall asleep (cuz she has her bottle) should I give it to her anyway for her to use during the night instead of her sucking on air?

Noooooo
Don't do it.
And you need to stop letting her fall asleep at night with a bottle. Her teeth are being ruined. You need to brush her teeth after the last bottle before she goes to sleep.
Get her a teddy bear or lovey to self soothe.
The bottle at night is way worse than a paci.

I would give a paci if it will help wean her from the bottle. The bottle is a horrible habit that can do damage to teeth (I assume it’s milk and not water in there..).

The first step I would take is switching from milk to water. Sucking on milk like that is going to destroy teeth, water won’t. Then just switch from a bottle to a no spill sippy cup

I'll bite. If the kid loved it that much I would. I never saw a kid get married with a pacifier. Sooner or later she'll wean herself of it. Yes some of my kids took took one for going to sleep till they were 8/9/10. Never bothered me.

No. Give her a bottle of water if anything. She needs to get used to nothing
