I'd like to do something to make my bathroom walls look new without any kind of full gut job/big renovation. I'm wondering if I can use some kind of special paint on them, or possibly install new tile or wainscoting or beadboard (or any other kind of panels) over what's there already.
I'd have a contractor do the work.
I'd like it to last 3-5 years, not looking for something that will hold up for the rest of my life.
Any thoughts or experience with this?

I stuck peel and stick tile over my old tile on my own and it came out great! (It was just two small areas though where the previous owner had bizarre tiles with jungle animals on them in the master bath. I covered them with a beautiful peel and stick from Home Depot. Took me about 30 minutes)
