When I call my 2 year old's name, he says "One second," then ignores me and keeps doing whatever he was doing before, indefinitely.
I do this all the time My intent is just to buy a few seconds, but I get distracted.

My hug is heartfelt as I do the same thing, with the same good intentions.
When I sit by myself to have a coffee or eat something I'll read a magazine - it's doubly relaxing! I do not do this when other people (including my very little people) are at the table with me, but my kids do! This has led to the creation of very intricate nuanced rules: No reading at the table if there are other people (siblings count here!) or if it's a magazine that others will be upset about if you ruin it by spilling cereal all over it.

He didn't pick it up from me but still cute.
My 2 year old keeps coming to me with random papers and asks me to 'sign his chumash test'
He's an only boy with 5 older sister who keep asking me this
