A camera is a great idea. Then like in Jephte's Daughter by
Naomi Ragen, if her marriage doesn’t work out she can have a back up plan.

I have an iphone & Samsung galaxy. The photo quality of a camera is way better than both phones.
You won't see a photographer using a phone to take pictures. No phone beats the quality of a camera.

Powershot elph is $269. It was on back order for a couple of months, I got an email this week that it's in stock.

Professional photographers dont use the camera most people use daily. Their cameras coat over 1k amd they attach lenses.
I have an iphone 13 and my pictures come out very good. If its any less clear than a camera it worth it because I dont have to transfer pics.

In a nutshell, an 18 yo is married off to someone of her father’s (not her) choice. After the wedding, she finds him to be religiously abusive. She has a camera. Runs away with the camera, using that to support herself as a photographer.
