If you decide to grow out your hair after it being very short, do you need to eventually get a wig with a larger cap size?

No, I put on a (double) wig cap to keep the hair in shape and doesn't become that bulky.
You can purchase wig caps at hair accessory stores at $1.00 per piece. It looks like a round thin stocking and I'd very comfortable to wear.

Giant scrunchie? idk. I just got a pretty dramatic haircut and my wig still fits me very well.
edit: I should add that I have a giant head, I have a size XL wig cap and with short short hair it's finally not tight anymore!

When my hair gets too long my wigs become uncomfortable and don’t fit me as well…. So I would say yes. How could it not make a difference?

Lol I just cut my hair and my sheitel was SLIDING away today. I'm going to actually use the hooks and loops in the back to make it smaller for tomorrow.

When I let my hair grow in my sheitel became very tight. But I have very thick hair.

I had very thick hair, and shaved my head. I had to buy a new wig, my old one’s literally slid off every time I moved my head
If I don’t upkeep it and it gets too long, my wig gets super tight and doesn’t fit well.
So yes, I’m of the opinion that you’d need a larger cap if you let your hair grow out
