My 13 year old son needs to do a non-fiction book report and he wants to do a Holocaust book. Does anyone have a recommendation for one that is written in an engaging enough style for a 7th grader, appropriate for him to read and with appropriate hashkafos? (There are a lot written by secular people whose views on such a heavy topic I would not be happy about my son reading.)

The Youngest Partisan
Go, My Son is very long but still readable for that age. It's a fascinating book.
Agree with Rappel's picks above as well.

Lt. Birnbaum is a must read but NOT for 7th grader.
There are VERY graphic pics and specifics.
For when she is older.

If he's a strong reader, Go, My Son is excellent.
It is not a concentration camp story, but it still has plenty of sad parts. It is very inspiring how a young man clung to his faith and mitzvos while fleeing throughout Russia. My son is BH a very strong reader and he read it at the beginning of 6th grade. He did need a little bit of historical context explained to him. It is also on the long side.
