It's supposed to be for special needs children, but the system is so abused by now that healthy kids that just need OT/PT/speech/remedial in school... are under OPWDD.

Definitely not accurate. Perhaps you mean CMAs such as Comfort Health etc...that's not the same as OPWDD.

I mean opwdd.
Therapy centers somehow get their clients under opwdd & make big money off it. In return, the clients get many free services they don't really qualify for.

You can make a spin off of this if you'd like. This post is asking if there's any pesach programs for families of opwdd

Do you know anyone that has actually done this? Or have you "heard about this"?
OPWDD is a very long process that can take over a year and it's pretty hard to beat the system. They require their own in person evaluations and medical records dating back to birth basically.
Additionally, therapy centers have nothing to gain with a child being under OPWDD. (Perhaps you mean an ASD dx?)

There aren't AFAIK.
You can try asking your CM if there's any way to have a Pesach program covered.

Yes, I know people that have done this.
But OP is right, I shouldn't have brought it up.

I have opwdd and severely disabled older kid and never heard of such things. Her respite goes to camp and a couple of Shabbaton’s and comhab for sundays (if I can find a worker) and that’s it. I pay thousands in alternative therapy, equipment takeout supper, tips and more. Don’t say I wish.
