Husband's brother's first child getting married.

What is normal to wear? Not a gown, but would think something nicer than regular shabbos.

what is done?

Lakewood type.

A tea length fancy dress
Definitely fancier than a regular shabbat dress.

For recent nieces weddings (different sides) I wore a long dress, but not quite floor length. Both were in the colors of the wedding at their request. They weren't exactly what I would call a gown (jersey stretch fabric instead of taffeta or chiffon), but certainly dressier than regular Shabbos. We posed for photos with family, so it was nice to be in the wedding colors. If you're not sure, you could always ask the Kallah or her Mom how they would prefer that you dress.

Long dresses are very in . Lots of people wear these long dresses so don’t feel like you can’t wear long. It can be straight and not a big puffy gown

In my extended family, both sides, some do wear gowns (simpler ones, though. Like I ordered some from Modanesa). Or longer dresses. I have an upcoming wedding (DH's brother's son) and I'm planning IYH to wear a longer dress I have, that I bought for my DD's Shabbos Sheva Brachos.

Thanks. Any ideas where to get plus size? I think I would need two piece, dresses don't look good on me

Yes, that's the site. Search for modest evening dress.

For example, here's one my DD wore (color was mint green):

Is dressing up something you enjoy or stressful? To date I have not bought myself anything new for niece or nephew wedding. I wear what I have in the closet... Usually its midi\ankle lengh cuz thats whats in. I'm from Boro Park( not chasidish). I don't have time or money to shop for each wedding

Wow. What’s the quality like and what’s the return process?

Not awesome quality but my girls looked great for an evening. And it actually washed quite nicely. Most needed some alterations, like hems or cutting the bottom for length. I don't think you can really return though, because it's not worth the overseas shipping. You have to get your size right. Go by weight, measurements, etc...we've done well.

Here's one my sister wore. Be aware it's a little busty, allow enough room in the chest area so it doesn't "pull". I removed padded inserts from it to give her more space.

My teen wore this: https://www.modanisa.com/en/mi......html

It looked adorable on her and much slimmer than the model.

You can search for Missvalle evening dress - they have some younger pretty styles.

I don't think I'm always in style but I got a long elegant (black) dress in Baltimore for my nephew's wedding that I'm iyh wearing to my niece's wedding in Lakewood. I'm assuming it's somewhat in/classic if the frum store carried it...
