There was a question about this in the Family First a few weeks ago. But now I can't find the answer.
My chicken soup frequently comes out cloudy.
Anyone know how to avoid this?

I boil my chicken first, skim the top
Then add my vegetables and only simmer. If it comes to a boil, it will get cloudy.
Also starchy things make it cloudy (potatoes, kneidlach). So add kneidlach closer to shabbos.

Making chicken soup with frozen chicken/bones creates a cloudy soup.

My chicken is usually frozen when I use it and it comes out clear.

My chicken soup is crystal clear: start by putting all the vegetables in the pot with COLD water. Once the the water comes to a full boil put in the chicken, and or chicken bones , whatever you use. Then add the salt. Try this method you'll see you'll have a gorgeous soup.

SAME, make sure the water and veggies boil before putting in the chicken, that's the trick

Op, to my method there's 2 things. 1. Cold water extracts all vitamins and minerals into the water so even if the kids don't eat the vegetables they still get the vitamins and health benefits because now it's all in the soup, 2. Putting the chicken into the soup after it comes to a boil is what makes a gorgeous and clear soup. Add the salt afterwards also helps.

Put all the vegetables in a net bag. Soup will come out clear

I do that. You think it helps? I do it simply because it's easier to take out of the soup to be used or thrown away. I put all the veggies to be eaten in one net bag, and all the veggies that get tossed in another.
