DS is 6 and is skinny but not a toothpick. He also gets bloated a lot with stomach issues.

Anyways, I always buy skinny pants because I don’t like the baggy look but lately he hasn’t been able to close the clasp or button on them because it’s too tight. He’s most definitely not husky. Really not a big guy at all.

I’ve tried both size 6 and size 7. Even the one brand I tried in 7 is too tight to close at the tummy.
What pants can I get for him that are slim by the legs but don’t squeeze him by the tummy?

Can you get skinny fit size 8? Or is that too long?

I'm having the same issue with my 9 year old. He is tall and not fat at all, but the slim and skinny sizes don't close easily by the waist and he is very uncomfortable. I just ordered the regular fit. I prefer the slim look but his comfort comes first.

No too long. Even the 7 is a bit long but it’s manageable

Ooh nice. Is it also adjustable inside, like with the button and elastic?
Also I’ve never shopped next before can you give me a link?

If you are in America Lil Legs make stretchy pants that are generous in the waist but skinny. Not a legging, it has pockets etc

I get children's place skinny pants but normal fit not slim fit.
The legs are slim enough (not very though) and there is plenty room at the crotch and waist area.

Thanks.

I should preface this with hoping not to spend more than $10 a pair 😬

Choose the regular fit not the skinny and you can even size down a size. These work perfectly the pants are not skin tight but they’re not baggy and have a nice slim look and the waist is very generous.

The Children's Place Boys' Stretch Pull on Chino Pants https://a.co/d/5L2bP20

These seem to be even more generous in the waist than the previous linked ones. If those are too tight try these
