Meaning, if my kids dress up as “artists”, minus the beret it’s not a complete “look”/costume?

I think that it's the accessories that really make the costume, otherwise it doesn't look that good. I get accessories from cheap places like Ali, Temu, Shein.

I guess my question is really how berets became synonymous with artist Very Happy

A paint splattered apron with paintbrushes. Depending if it has pocket, maybe a paint pallet sticking out, or somehow pinned to it. Not sure yet!

Was about to place an order for this yesterday https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod.....sc=1, but got distracted. Came back to place today and the price doubled.

I’m looking at this now, and can add other accessories like brushes and pallet from our home collection. https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod.....psc=1
Which would come out significantly cheaper than getting above or this https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod.....psc=1

Eta, want to keep it under $10 a kid. Berets are kind of out budget… (and then questioning if they’ll even wear it on Purim)

I’ll take a look, but with 3 weeks to Purim I may not have time.
Also, was going to order some costumes there for another child and the costume was cheaper but it had a shipping fee. When I added the shipping fee it was close to amazon price, so was not worth it. With amazon I had it the next day, plus free returns if needed. Sometimes with Ali it’s too much of a gamble for the $2-5 I may save…

I don't think you need it. If it's a girl, pull her hair back a bit messily. And I like to out a "paint" mark on the face with makeup or face paint.

Or put her hair in a bun and crisscross two long, thin paintbrushes in it.

This looks like a really easy no sew beret idea. If you don't have an old tshirt just buy a length of t shirt fabric.

I don't think you have to include the beret, but the costume will certainly be cuter if you do.
