How can I sign in to Whatsapp on my desktop without the app on my phone? It keeps trying to get me to go into my Whatsapp setting. I don't have the app on my phone anymore (filter).

I don't think you can. The web or desktop version both require you to use the QR code.

You need your main account to either be on a phone or a tablet or chromebook.
The base account can't be on a regular computer

It only works if you have it on a phone too.

You can reach out to your filter company to unblock it briefly, set it up on desktop, then have it reblocked.

When I had a flip phone, I used whatsapp on the computer using an emulator on my computer that was connected to my phone number.

Google it to see if you can find something like that.

Is an emulator safe? Maybe I’ll have the filter unblock. (Fyi this was my choice to not have WhatsApp - the filter company would have allowed.)

I’ve used bluestacks once to set up an account and uninstalled it after. Was totally fine.

The problem is with both the web and desktop version that it needs to be connected from the phone every 14 days, or it logs you out.

Bluestacks is safe. It's a simulator of android iOS.
It does take alot if RAM memory to run so can slow your pc if it doesn't have enough.

My WhatsApp account is now blocked when using an emulator. Is this a new update from WhatsApp? Are others still doing this successfully?
