Just thought I'd share that I'm someone with a MIL who has very definite ideas, full of nostalgia, about how the grandchildren should be. I hate it. I tell myself she means well, but I rarely interact with her because she is so demanding and needy about how simchas should look. Don't have thoughts about heirloom stuff for your grandkids. Let the moms have their own opinions.
