I got a letter to reach out to the food stamp office or I will lose my benefits.
I keep calling and waiting on hold for hours and nobody picks up.
I'm at my wits end. Any suggestions of other numbers to call? Or an ext that gives a call back option?

You may want to do it thru an organization or business that takes care of these things. I pay someone to take care of Medicaid and food stamps. Worth every penny

What state is this in? If it's New York, it says online that
the best time to call for your interview is Thursday afternoon or Friday afternoon.

There should be the name/number of your caseworker on your letter. Call them.
Still will be hard to reach bec that's how they want it. You can physically go to a SNAP office and try as well. Make sure you have EVERY bit of pprwrk necessary.
Also, if you want to pay someone to have your case dealt with, there are those that do so. And they know exactly how and what to bring/say/do. TOTALLY WORTH IT.
(I am talking about in Brooklyn. Im sure elsewhere as well but don't know details).
Bhatzlacha.
