I was thinking of gifting board games for a newly married couple? First, good idea? Any other gift ideas?
Anyone have good board game suggestions? Willing to spend ~100$ (maybe more)

Look our for games that work with 2 people many don't. And a lot depends on what type they are Here are a couple of ideas that work with 2 people.
- Bananagrams
- Scrabble
-Boggle
-Monopoly Deal
- Rummy

Great idea. But first you should try to assess if they are the serious gaming type or just casual. If casual, they would likely not appreciate the more complex games. If serious, they might own the popular ones already.
Catan isn't good for 2 players.
Casual games that are good for 2:
Bananagrams
Othello (only 2)
Scrabble if they're the type to appreciate wordy thinky games
Codenames duet (only 2)
Rummikub
Medium weight - gotta get through the rules and playing takes some time, but not hugely complicated:
Azul
Patchwork
Jaipur
More gamey:
Pandemic
Wingspan
There have been a bunch of new games in this category lately, but these are the ones I'm familiar with.

We played rummykub daily newly married. Recently we’ve been playing carcassone which is fun with two players or more.
We also did a lot of basic card games and uno.

My husband and I play games on shabbos often. Our favorites are Dominion (which we like enough that we got 2 expansions - Seaside and Prosperity), Race for the Galaxy, Carcassonne (we were given the "big box" with a bunch of expansions as a wedding gift), Splendor, and Rummikub when we're feeling more casual. Bananagrams is also great because you can use the tiles for other word games, but it's cheaper and probably not a great wedding gift by itself.
We also have and enjoy Le Havre and Terraforming Mars, but those are *long* games and I wouldn't recommend them unless you know the couple would enjoy that.

Catan is a 3-4 player game, not a great gift for newlyweds.
