Still looking for source material.
Also does it make a difference if the taffies are loose or bagged if it's the same amount? Individually wrapped taffies. My whole mm is a similar type of cellophane bag like the one you posted but bigger. Going to include one larger item and a handful of taffies with a card. Do I need to bag up the handful of taffies?

I need to find the source, but according to some opinions there needs to be at least a kezayis (usually defined as 1 ounce, or a bit over 28 grams) of each of the two foods.

Salt water taffies are usually about 6 grams each, so you'd want to have at least 5 taffies. Different types of taffy might need different amounts.

It should not make a difference if they are loose or bagged.

Wondering if a husband and wife can only each give to each other, 2 foods, if that would count 🤔My husband is my best friend…would that count?

I don't think there is a source, I think this is one of those community norms and standards in the name of tznius. In many communities, it's a breach of tznius for a women to have a male friend. And since the point of MM is to bring about a friendship, it would mean a women only gives to a women.

That's what I thought... Which is why I asked.
