Pls compare and contrast lap top to a tablet. I'm looking to replace my broken lap top and got a message I can get free tablet.

A laptop is similar to a desktop computer a tablet is similar to a smartphone. A tablet is more portable. A laptop has a keyboard and a desktop. I use my laptop to type up stuff and to store/organize files. A tablet is larger than a smartphone and can't make phone calls

Do you want to specify what you need it for?
If its for internet browsing, shopping, entertainment, than a tablet is fine.
If its more work type stuff, you're likely better off with a laptop
