Gut voch ladies! Yochanan heard kiddush for the first time Shabbos day (he was getting his tube feed upstairs Shabbos when DH came home leil Shabbos). Some of our family members have spent Shabbos with him in the hospital but I’m not sure how much of kiddush/davening they said around him (family members are not frum, and in the higher care section of the NICU, eating in babies’ rooms isn’t allowed). So this was his first time at a Shabbos seuda and it was really really sweet.

We are so glad to have him home.

Thank you for your tefillos, if you can please keep davening for his refuah so that he can learn to eat and drink orally, we would be grateful.

Thinking of you. I know the journey doesn't end when you go home. I still have you and your little boy in mind.

Thank you so much! BH he is continuing to get stronger, still not crazy about taking anything by mouth, but we are working on developing positive associations with tasting things and using his pacifier so he maintains his sucking reflex. looking at the positive in the situation, I must say that it is definitely convenient being able to easily “vent” him (burp using the tube) in the middle of a feed if he gets fussy.

Now we’re on the merry go round of endless follow-up appointments. BH for great providers but I won’t deny that it is exhausting!

Thank you for this! To be honest, I was wondering if it was bugging people that I was updating but it’s reassuring that people want to know how he’s doing💛

Thanks ladies 💛

BH Yochanan is doing well, making progress on tummy time (although he doesn’t love having to do it). He has about a million follow-up appointments with various specialists, and our latest project is trying to get a blood sample (requested by the allergist/immunologist) it has to go to a specific lab for analysis. Apparently getting enough blood from a baby is an ordeal, today will be the third or fourth time we are trying (at yet another lab).

Making Pesach with a toddler (Yochanan’s big brother) and a baby on a feeding tube is challenging, but we are grateful that BH he is home and basically healthy bli ayin hara.

I don't know if it's an option where you live, but here you can pay under $50 and have a home visit for a blood draw. I totally splurge on it for my babies and toddlers.
