I've been struggling with my damaged hair lately and I'm considering shaving it off. I've tried everything to fix it, but nothing seems to work. My snood isn't holding up, and it's really getting to me. I'm feeling annoyed and frustrated. At this point, I don't see any reason to keep it as it is - it's not soft, smooth, or beautiful, and it stopped growing. My pony tail even looks frizzy. I'm middle age. I'm feeling nervous about shaving it off , worried I might regret it later. What would you do in my situation? And advice or insights please?

Don't shave it completely but cut it short like a boy's haircut or pixie cut. I've done it and loved it. DH has to be on board or at least willing for you to try, though.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm considering a short haircut too. Does hair grow back quickly from a short cut?
How often would I need to go back for a recut? I worry that once it grows back longer, it might look messy.

I would not shave it or cut it off. My own hair condition has suffered since covering but I still keep it long, I got it thinned out and sometimes seeing pictures of my hair before marriage makes me want to cry, but I got new highlights and use better products and it seems like it’s helping a bit….its a hard mitzvah…

If your hair doesn't grow fast it will not grow faster because it's cut short.
You'll probably need a haircut every 6 weeks.
Depending on the cut you might be able to do it on your own at home with a shaver/haircut machine.
I would try different products before cutting it short.
