I don’t know anywhere that is affordable anymore like you mention if you don’t take into account the other expenses outside of housing you don’t get a good idea of cost. You also need to consider schools if you have kid we are looking to but I need something where women work outside of the local yeshiva to make sure they have daycare it’s getting harder to find

Why not try Israel.
Tuition is free:) rent is not bad. If you have an american job while living here, you're set!
