We hold of the halacha that I should get something new for yt for simchas yt. When we can it's a dress, sometimes it's just a tichel or a piece of costume jewelry I like.

The inyan is to give a gift to be mesameach one's wife and kids. To make their YT happy. Even if one has a full complement of slaves to do the heavy lifting. It has nothing to do with having made Pesach and it holds for all YTim. .

My bday usually falls around pesach (English date) and so typically I'll get a combination of something for yt and my bday. Honestly, I work hard all year long. Every shabbos, every yt it's me who is planning everything, cleaning, cooking, making sure the kids have the right clothes and they are clean, all of the things we need are organized etc. Forget the physical load, the mental load is so exhausting!!! So yeah, I get myself new stuff for YT because I deserve it lol. It's the only one way to get through because it's just a lot of hard work and I never have family to lean on for help with it (BT)

Yes he knows it my live language but doesn’t get. Not out to bad but he just doesn’t. I buy myself bday gifts. after many years of being disappointed and hurt that’s what I do … of course it loses the purpose but it’s the only way I ll get any gift …

I definitely buy things for myself lekavod yom tov. You deserve it and should buy something. Doesn't have to be big. Buy something that brings you simchas yom tov.
