is going out of bed with stocking a halacha or is it just
better and not assur?
I want to undertake something something but an improvement
of not just a chumra...

I never even heard of such a chumrah  So it's definitely not halacha! Maybe in different circles diff things are accepted. I'm reg yeshivish but never heard of that.
And just saying - good for you, sounds like you have your head on straight. It's good to first work on keeping halacha perfectly before adding chumros.

Neither. It's not halacha, and it's not better. It's just something some people might so.
