I do, never asked an lor. My gut tells me that something that will bring simchas yom tov to a kid and isn't done for work purposes is ok.

I was told adults can play games that include writing since it's tzorech moed! Definitely our kids are allowed to color for fun. Should I attach some pictures of today's creations? 😉
