We recently bought our first car, and got a car seat for our 2.5 yr old.
When we picked out a car seat the model on display had a chest clip and I assumed it came with the seat. Once we unpackaged it and put it in the car it didn't have a chest clip which I thought was odd but not unheard of and thought must be a separate item.
We don't live near a baby product store so the first day we went to a different mall and the only baby store said they don't sell them but you can probably pick them up in any baby store. I've been to a couple and didn't see them anywhere. Went back now to the store we got the seat in, asking to buy a clip and asked how come we didn't have one if the model does. They said strange it didn't have one but they don't sell them 'just order from AliExpress '
Is the chest clip not that important if no-one is selling them??
I'm not worried about DC taking hands out the strap she is BH very well behaved and listens, we aren't using the car daily.
If I should be getting one how do I know from Ali which ones are good?
All advice is welcome.
If anyone knows a store in Israel selling them I'm very happy to hear.

It seems like for some reason European car seat’s specifically don’t come with the chest clips.
You can do your own research to see which was safer

In the US you must have one. In Europe they don’t have them. Where do you live?

Makes sense, store person did mention somewhere in his Ivrit Europe but didn't fully grasp it. Thanks for the link, I felt totally lost buying the car seat, it was so last minute I didn't have time to research.
The question is now if I should get a chest clip and from where?

If it was tested and approved for use without one, please don't buy one aftermarket.

You don’t need one there pretty sure. Just make sure you tighten the straps correctly

Ah yes our infant car seat does not have a chest clip either. Just follow the rest of the instructions

If it's tight enough, and adjusted correctly, he shouldn't be able to get out.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
a lot of guilt from each time I put DC in the car seat without a chest clip has rolled off my shoulders.
BH I have experience from putting my nieces and nephews in car seats on tightening the strap, and from this website to not put on a coat. IYH we should all have safe journeys!
