IY"H I'm visiting the Lakewood area in September before Rosh Hashana and I would like to know if I should wear nude or black tights. Although I live in Israel, I am able to take this seriously with the respect a community practice deserves.

Goodness. We don't have enough rules or peer pressure. So now we add official times for when to switch colors.

Just do whatever your heart likes. Wear black if you like it. Wear nude if you like it. Choose whatever works with your shoes or clothing or your wishes.

When I was young and stupid I would wear socks that matched my outfits.

Now I am still stupid, but I have no head space to deal with matching socks so all my socks are black winter and summer.

The only person who you should be worrying about what color you are wearing is your self. Want to wear black wear black, want to wear green with purple pock-a-dots wear that(I would recommend that if you wear that to also wear a long skirt, but that's just me)

You will live a much happier life if you stop worrying about the color of tights or socks you should be wearing.

I don't either like to switch back and forth because with my black rights I wear my velvet flats and with nude pantyhose I wear fun light shoes. And I like switch my hand bag as well, which is a pain to change back and forth.

Most people in my area weee in nude tights. It was hot today. I saw plenty of white dresses, linen etc.

There is no rule that once you switch, you can’t go back until next season. Just wear what’s appropriate for that day. In general, my tights match my clothes, so if I’m in lightweight summer clothes, I won’t wear black tights.

Socks and sneakers are all year round now so that might be a comfy option for you this season.

It was 50’s in the morning so I put on black tights with a summer shirt
the same reason I put pants on my 4 year old not shorts with short sleeves

And did you all melt when it was 90 from 12-6? I find it’s not worth wearing extra layers for that hour.

I switch to nude when it's hot all day long. A couple hours midday isn't enough. I don't want to freeze in the morning.
