Hi,

Looking for beautiful destination to visit in August for 1 week. Preferably off the beaten track. We like mountains, waterfalls, etc.

Any recommendations?

Live in nj and don't want to fly more than 8 hours.

Glacier NP in Montana is the most beautiful place I've been to in the continental US, and it is full of the most magnificent mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and wildlife that you can imagine.

You could also consider Washington State, which is magnificent and has direct flights to Seattle. Nearby you have North Cascades NP which is stunning, as is Mt. Rainier. If you want more waterfalls, Oregon has Multnomah and tons more.
