I think my 4 year old is ambidextrous. She colors and writes with both her right and left hand equally.
When I watch her color she’s often switching hands. Anyone else have this? Curious if there’s anything to do about it? Or if I should encourage her to use one specific hand? She’s gonna learn to write properly soon and not sure if this will affect anything.
I’m new to this and no clue whether or not I should leave it alone

I was ambidextrous as a young child, into elementary school.
Although many kids already have a dominate hand at 4, many don't. Still normal to not have hand dominance until around age 6.
So don't worry about your child yet and definitely don't push to one hand or the other. Give your child time. If by the time they are in first grade they don't have a preference, then it might be helpful to see an occupational therapist. But now is too early.
If your child has other motor or coordination issues, then there may something to consider that they also don't have a dominant hand yet, but otherwise it doesn't mean anything on its own.
If your gut tells you there is an issue, you can see an OT or get an evaluation with a developmental pediatrician/neurologist.

I used to be ambidextrous. Until about first grade. When I started writing with only one hand and slowly everything switched to that hand.
My fil is ambidextrous until today. My 2 year old was a clear righty at the beginning and now is a clear lefty. We'll wait and see how that develops.
