I would prefer an eye doc-- that way you can check ot see that there is no scratch etc on your eye .

- a regular doctor can prescribe drops for pink eye - if it doesnt clear up within a few days then you can go to the eye dr - as it may take a few days to get an appt with a specialist anyway.

You can go to your regular doc, he'll give you prescription drops.

Hope you feel better soon, I feel for you! I stay far away from my kids when they get it, it's awful.

you can go to your PCP for prescription eye drops. If he/she feels you should go see an eye doctor they'll refer you to someone.

If she had a scratch she would feel it. It's pretty painful

btw pink eye generaly goes away by itself within a few days. So says my doctor. Why don't you wait a bit before seeing the doctor?

thanx for all your responses. I think I will try to get to a regular doctor (since I dont really want to pay the specialist co-pay if its not necessary)

I'd rather not wait for it to go away on its own, because first of all, I'm not 100% sure its pink eye (and if not, all the better) but if it is, I want to be on medication asap so that I wont be contagious. I've bh got 2 babies at home and the last thing I need is for them to catch it and be miserable all yomtov!

I also just had pink eye, then gave it to my baby.
Regular dr gave me drops, worked in a couple of days.
Very annoying in the meantime

The drops don’t always land and take time to heal. I asked the pediatrician to prescribe for me the crème and he did, by phone! No need to schlep down if you have a relationship with them and they trust you. The crème needs to be put on the tear duct, then blink so it goes in. wash your hands with soap because it’s very contagious. If you don’t see blurry, you didn’t get it in the eye properly!

just cuz you were all so sweet and concerned, I wanted to update you. my regular doc is out till after yomtov, so I called my kids pediatrician and asked if he would see me, which he did.
bh, its not pink eye, just bad allergies (which I knew I had in my genes, but somehow I never reacted like this)

thanks for all your help!

Just to give you a heads up, it can be highly contagious for 2 weeks after signs and symptoms are noticed so you should seek diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible.
