I bought something like that from toys r us in white. They look at it for a week then forget about it just like everything else. Now it's 2 years old w\ 2 legs broken. Oh, and the sounds it made didn't mimic a real piano- it was that cheesy high pitched baby toy sounds. (I don't know about this one though)
If they're into music buy them a keyboard, it'll last longer.

Yeah, the schoenhut is supposed to sound like a real piano while the others have that squeeky noise...
thanks for ur input, I know it's not really practical & a keyboard makes more sense, but this is so pretty & they can sit nicely.
Thanks for letting me know about the 2weeks of interest, that's what I was worried about.
I guess I'll put it on the backburner again!

oh & u should tell them abt the broken legs. I've heard they are really good w/ cust svc. (2 ppl I know had issues with diff instruments & they sent them new ones)
