If I get a link to a live stream audio file (IOW, a link opens a recorded audio file in Windows Media Player) can I record the file to play while offline? or is there a way to download the live stream file so I can save it on my computer?
As you may realize, I have no idea of the correct technical terminology. All I want is to save a file that's playing on line.
thanks!

from what I gather, you can only record live stream while it's playing. This doesn't work for me cuz I can't hear live stream normally, which is why I need to save the file first.
Has anyone tried retreiving the temp file while it's playing if one exists? Is this possible? where do I find it?

If you use firefox then get the download helper add on. It lets you download streaming media from almost everywhere in cyberspace. Start the file and then download it. I have found few sites that it can't do it and they are fixing it all of the time.
