So you mix the first few ingredients and don't bother proofing the yeast?

I was going to try this baked doughnut recipe from Chabad.org buy maybe this first....

And by the way... thanks Greenie. Just when I thought I'd reclaimed a few brain cells you had to refill them with MacArthur Park. (Rex Harrison or Donna Summers? Maybe I should start a new thread with a survey....)

I tried this recipe this year. I got it from imamother and it had good reviews on here. But I only had WW flour and I used skim milk. It could be I also rolled them out to thin. It was good - but not great. But the recipe itself was good because it went very fast and there was very little down time so it kept my little boys involved the whole time.

These just may be the times I'm glad my filters don't let me get youtube...
I'm looking forward to trying your recipe. I may wait a day or two as my kids accuse me of frying SOMETHING every day (even if it's just sauteeing onions for a soup, and even though it is Chanuka); also I've already started on a baked doughnut recipe. Bli ayin hara, so far so good.

They're from Chabad.org. Sorry I'm not savvy enough to post the link. I think I also found them when I googled baked doughnuts.

So here goes: they're...ok. Maybe even better than ok. They have less sugar than Greenfire's, and I think that extra sugar is not a bad thing, but hey, there's always the glazes. I wouldn't mind a little friedness but don't like the dripping in oil thing either. We're having company tomorrow night so I may just try a traditional doughnut recipe tonight and have a taste test.
