it seems trivial, but after today,of combing my dd's curly wavy hair(which reaches pass her back when wet),we were both almost in tears.I didnt comb it all week, just brushed it,w/moisterizer and water, because she hates to sit still.when it is done its soo beautiful!!so I'm not sure what to do!I've heard so many horror stories of curly haired ladies, who had the worse haircut when they were kids.

needing advice and chizuk, will check back after shabbos.

Curly hair only gets combed and only when washed and conditioned. Otherwise do not mess with it. Keep it in braids.

you should only comb her hair while it has lots of conditioner while in the bath ... do NOT comb it outside of the bath ... simply wet it back into neatness or use some spray gel (garnier has one) ... you'll both be happier ...

also learn to comb from bottom up - that means first focus on taking out the knots from the lowest inch ... when free ... go up to 2 inches comb downward ... when free of knots go up to 3 inches and keep combing downwards till you eventually reach the top ... sure it takes time and patience - but you need this for curly hair ... believe me sometimes I refuse to brush my own hair ...

and if her hair is down to her waist - you can take off several inches and it will still be long and beautiful ... but easier to comb through ...

good luck !!!
