I had a woman babysit my son since he was 2 months old. My son just turned 10 months old and I decided it is time for him to go out to a babysitting group where he can enjoy the company of other kids. I just let her know that I will be sending him away in 2 weeks and really want to find her another job ASAP.
My babysitter is really great and caring. She was never once late and has so much patience for my son, who can be very demanding. She really loved him, which is one thing I hope he will have in a group.

Good luck! Just suggesting that if you can't find anyone to take her, you can still get your son a playmate by splitting her with another child. That way he still gets more individualized attention and socialization. That is what I do and it works great!

A 10 month old doesn't need the company of other kids and doesn't need to compete for attention. A baby needs the loving care of one person (preferably his mother or other close relative). There have been studies on this which you can look up online.
