My 7 year old DS wears navy chinos to school most of the time, and I have tried a few different brands and so far I'm very unhappy with the quality, they all wear out very quickly, and wash horribly, tear at the knees, and the bottom of the legs shred. And he's not tought on his clothes normally. I've tried Old Navy, Gap, Childrens Place and Crazy 8. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm willing to pay a little more if it's going to last.

Have you tried Land's End? They are good quality, but are a bit pricey. However, I believe they have a lifetime guarantee.

Change your laundry detergent, if it's ripping in the wash your laundry soap is to tough try a natural brand for a while. Enjoy the difference. The chemicals eat up the clothing.
Good luck.

sears aslo has a if they wear out they replace the same size.
but look inot french toast brand, or a uniform brand. they usually have reinforced knees.
bottoms fray when they drag on the floor, so make sure its not too long.
when all else fails, cut it off at the knees and make shorts...

I do have navy pants in stock (I have a little tznius clothing store). But I am in Australia.
I'd be happy to send you off a pair free postage if you'd like to try, but then, I am not sure if its a regular line from this manufacturer and would have to find out more. Anyway, if you are interested, pm me.

If I am not mistaken, nautica's quality is pretty good. I have to confirm it with my husband, but his pants don't fade like the gap ones. These ones are on sale, so it doesn't hurt to try a pair.

7 year old boys will wear out any kind of clothing while at school. That is the nature of the beast. They are on the floor, in the yard acting like 7 year old boys. I expect that to happen. All the boys in my ds' class have there pants look like that especially now at the end of the school year.

I use to have this problem with my sons' pants and I tried every brand. I love french toast double or reinforced knees. I just sent a few hand me downs of them to my sister. They really last and look nice. I get them from their website. HTH
