Adding Vitamin C & Vital Wheat Gluten to Challah

Has anyone added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) to the yeast? I just add vital wheat gluten and was wondering if you see a difference with vitamin C. It says the yeast reacts well. Any experience anyone??
