He is very educated, smart, professional, but has had terrible luck with finding a job. He's applied to many different kinds of jobs inside and outside his field (law) and just hasn't been able to get anything. We're getting desperate. Please, if you know someone who knows someone, and have any ideas for us, let us know. If you pm me with your email and a real idea, I can send you his resume. We're willing to move almost anywhere. Currently we live in Brooklyn. TIA
Oh, and please don't respond with different websites or places to look for jobs. He's looked at EVERYTHING. Thanks.

DO NOT MOVE....no matter what marvellous job offers may come up. Better he should commute for a while. The job market being so precarious, a great-sounding job may fizzle out in 3 months & then what?
Apart from law, what are his skills? Experience? Education? I'm assuming he will only consider white-collar work, but there's no shame in driving a truck or managing a warehouse (I know a man with multiple professional degrees who does just that. It puts food on the table.) It's hard for us to help you with so little information.

he has experience as a mashgiach also. Also has smicha, and security guard license. He's very bright and works better mentally than physically, but he's willing to do anything. Problem is, a lot of people take one look at his resume and say forget it -- you're overqualified (he's admitted to the bar). Thanks for the advice.

Tell him to take his law degree off his resume, so he won't be overqualified.

Why can't he get a job as an attorney? He's passed the bar....WOW! Yet he was a security guard? as I said, there's no shame in honest work, but he studied all those years & can't find anything?
I think Opinionated may be right. He can still send out resumes for legal jobs while he's doing something else.
BTW...has he tried Linked-In?

The legal field has been decimated during this recession. There are scores of really intelligent unemployed lawyers out there.
