I am baking something that needs to be dusted with confectioners sugar and I do not have a sieve. I would go buy one but the store doesn't open till 10am and I need to deliver the cookies before then. Any suggestions for how I can do it??

You can put it in a salt shaker and tap the sides of the shaker to get it to sprinkle out.

That is a good idea but I do not have a salt shaker either! We just use salt straight from the box!

Thanks Tamiri - I tried that but it wouldn't go through. Maybe my stockings are too thick?
Anyway, I just solved the problem - took a cup, filled with confe sugar, covered with foil and poked a few holes in the top with a fork. A little bigger than a sieve but it has done the job.
Thanks for trying to help Tamiri and mammomommy!
