can I substitue, same ratio, brown sugar or confectionary sugar?
anyone done this before?

a cake... or cookies, whatever will work best with substitute

Equal amounts of brown sugar should be fine in most cookies and cakes. I do it often because I like using my organic brown sugar.

Confectioners sugar works fine in cookies - equal substitution. If its choc chip or peanut butter cookies, Brown sugar would be good.
