I am totally addicted to bagel hole tuna. Does anyone know of a tuna recipe similar to theirs?

Well, in general. isn't pizza shop tuna solid white pureed very finely and mixed with a ton of mayonnaise? (Yum!)

their tuna is different. it has pieces of celery and another secret ingredient which I wish I could find out what it is. The tuna has tiny white stuff in it. Maybe white fish?

Never been to bagel hole, but this recipe I make sounds similar to it. It's really, really good!

1 (6 ounce) can tuna, drained
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
paprika to taste

Mix well and refrigerate until chilled!

Some places put hard boiled eggs in tuna salad. That could be the white stuff.

I am a huge fan of bagel hole tuna (it's really T&L tuna) and you could get it by Avenue M bagel store (ave. m bet. e.17 and e.18th). I think their secret ingreadient is flavored bread crumbs. I would love to be able to imitate their tuna. It would save me lots of money!

It's actually Sally Sherman tuna salad. I think you might be able to buy in bulk somewhere in Brookyln. I also love their tuna fish!

It's not sally sherman tuna salad. It's made by T&L Creative Salads. located on Foster Avenue in Bklyn. They make a special pas yisroel run (bec. of the bread crumbs) special for Bagel Hole and Ave. M Bagel Store. I believe you can shlep out there to buy a 5 pound container if you want.

I love tuna in general, and when I finally tasted bagel hole tuna I was so disappointed- because it was not to my liking, even though everyone I know raves about it!

It's interesting that so many people here love Bagel hole's tuna. I don't like it at all. And I like tuna in general.

omg - me too! I love their tuna. when I moved from brooklyn I missed it!

BUT, I make a tuna that is very similar. someone once told me that that pizza stores crumble up bread into their tuna to add bulk. I did that to my tuna and WOW - it was so similar!

I put in:

chopped celery
lots of mayo
crumbled up bread

let me know how it comes out! Smile

A lot of places put hard boiled egg in too. Maybe that's the white you see.

I guess they changed the tuna they use! My brother worked there eons ago and Sally sherman was what they used then.
