I am looking for tips on how to get hits for my blog. More specifically, I am looking for ideas on where to post links to advertise my blog? For example, if I was to start a healthy cooking blog where would I find groups or lists to send links to my blog? Yahoogroups specific to healthy eating? Linked in groups for healthy eating? Other?

the key is to write and update often!
it takes time to develop a following (if you build a large enough audience advertasers may come to you)...and it takes even longer to make a shekel at it so do it for fun only at first so you don't get dicouraged .

seo is important too and you can also do article marketing.... submit articles to the big 10 article marketing sites with an info box that links to your blog.
also use facebook's networked blogs---- I have a lot of followers through there.
bloglog is also a biggie.
use aweber or another email capture program on your blog so you're list building with your blog and not just gaining followers--- but you actually have a way to contact them (assuming you're selling something since this is in "working women".
join blogging communities for link exchanges.
hmmm I should write an article on this and post it to my blog.  thanks for the idea.
