I am formula feeding, not enough breastmilk, and my baby is quiet fussy after the feedings.
My baby also has alot of gas and is soiling a diaper only every 3 days. By then he is unhappy and usually after that he is a much more happy baby.
Is it okay that he isnt so regular at soiling his diaper?
I have also tried Similac Top Free which is also dairy (up to now have been giving Materna Diary) and he vomited an hour after feed so now we are back on Materna Diary.
Anyone had this experience before with formulas?
My baby is a month old.
Thnks!

sounds similar to my baby. My daughter, BH is now a healthy almost three year old, but when she was just born (6 weeks early) she did not know how to suck, swallow and breath at the same time. Long story short, I ended up not breastfeeding her at all, it did not work well. We started with Materna, here in israel. It was extremely hard for her to make a BM. We went on to similac. Also it was no good. Then we tried the soy version. No good. The pediatrician then suggested we use nutramigen. Its much easier on the stomach. BH, it was much better for her.
Try asking your ped about that.
If you have any more questions, please just ask.

I got it at the Meuchedet pharmacy. With a prescription from my dr. I got it for 50 shekel each. (It's usually much more expensive.)

some pharmacies dont carry it, but most do. you can buy it without the mirsham from the doctor, but its over 100 shekels. get a mirsham and its like what cccookie said, MUCH cheaper. I got it almost in every pharmacy, even private ones.

I dont know the formula situation in israel but here in america I had my dd on enfamil premium and once before shabbos I needed another can, went to the pharmacy and they only had the "basic" enfamil so I bought it, and I noticed that she was much much much fussier and gassy because of it.

so the formula could be causing it. I chose to spend the extra $5-10 per can for the premium version because she was so much happier on it.

Like I said I dont know the formula situation in israel and if there is a "better" version or quality but it may be worth trying.
