I am looking for information on whether of not this is feasible for a mother. Do you or anyone you know commute from lakewood to manhattan? how does it work out? do they drive, take a bus? is there a train? how much does it cost? is it possible to find a babysitter for all of those hours in lakewood? how much does the commute cost?

thanks!

Bumping this up as I am moving to Lakewood and may need to travel to Manhattan occasionally for work. Is there a frum bus that goes between Lakewood and Manhattan, and where does it depart from in Lakewood to where in Manhattan? Thank you.

Years ago I did this, when I first moved to Lakewood (approx 24 years ago). At that time there were Parkway express buses at 10th street or the terminal, which really helped the commute. These buses don't go on the 9. I used to take an express from 10th street at 6:20 am.

But long term this is very difficult and not so feasible. In more recent years, there was Darkeinu - a frum bus - does it still exist?

I used to take the Parkway express bus (It was route 137.) The local, which travels on route 9, can take up to 40 minutes longer. The NJ Transit bus stops in Manhattan on 42nd street at the bus terminal, and you can take a train from there.

There was a frum bus that went from one of the Park 'n Rides, but I haven't seen it advertised in recent years. I believe it went to Wall Street.
