I froze fresh chopped meat in Aluminum foil about 4 weeks ago. The other half we ate.

When I took the meat out of the aluminum foil, there were patches of grey on some spots on the outside of the meat. It still smells fine. What cause this? Do I have to throw the chopped meat out?

HELP!

This just happened to me last week. Thing was, it was a close package.

I notice though that when I took out the package, some of the plastic ripped off and got exposed, so that turned it grey. Were there any holes in the silver foil?

Did it really turn grey, or more like it lost it's red color and looks kind of beigy brown?
That's what happens sometimes when you freeze meat. If that's the case, it is still fine.

Most of it is the original color. but is has a bunch of patches of brown/grey- how/why did it get like that?

If it's the entire outside that is discolored, than know that it's the freezer.
If it's patches, then I don't know Sad

I'm wondering if it's a reaction from the silver foil.
I usually wrap mine in plastic, so I wouldn't know for sure, but it sounds like it.
If it smells ok, and the other stuff in your freezer are all fine, I would prob try using it.
