Hi ladies,
I need your help!
I'm trying to put together a chinese theme for one of the Yom Tov meals, but I need ideas as well as recipes.

So far I've got:

-Wonton Soup (recipe needed, please)
-Sesame Chicken (recipe needed, please)
-Beef and Broccoli (recipe needed, please)
-Shish Kabobs (w/ either chicken or beef
-Brown Rice

What can I do for an appetizer, dessert, etc?
Please add your creativity!

Any other ideas?

threee mains? for one meal? overkill.

I'd do a stir fry and fancy rice along with the soup.

SaraG-
To be honest with you, I am trying to cut out carbs as much as possible, and only use whole grains.

Therefore, I will serve whole wheat challah, will have only clear soup with veggies (and only put kneidlach or wonton's in DH's and guests soup) and plan on improvising on the recipes I hope to get for the chicken/beef dishes to cut out sugar as much as possible. Brown rice and whole wheat linguine noodles if I can find. Whole wheat flour will be used for all recipes that call for flour. Low-sodium soy sauce.

So yes, I do want a variety of the protein dishes so I can have that and veggies and won't feel hungry for much of the carb stuff.

I pre-ordered "Enlitened Kosher Cooking" from Feldheim and am waiting with bated breath to receive it. B"H not diabetic, just want to be healthier. I hope it meets my expectations. Has anyone seen it yet?

Good Shabbos, all.

It looks like you have more than enough food as is!
If you want an appetizer, just serve eggrolls.

for beef and brocoli I dont follow any specific recipe. just saute stuff, add the meat and soem good marinade and lots of spices and it comes out great. nice and easy. I never made brown rice, though. but white rice can also be very chinese.

I have a really great Chinese cookbook and they are not big on the apppetizers or desserts.

Appetizers are basically smaller mains. Desserts are more fruit oriented. I tend to skip both of those courses.
