Nope, but this is how I make it.

Fry over the meat in it's own fat (no need to add oil). When it's cokked add marinara sauce. Put it in a pan. Put mashed potatoes on top & bake until desired crispness.

I fry the meat too, once browned, I'll add in sauce as well.

I make my mashed potatoes like I usually do, with saute onions, margarine, salt etc, put that on top of the meat.

For my third layer I'll add on veggies, usually the frozen ones (once defrosted).

It makes a really yummy dinner Very Happy !!

Like I wrote earlier, I fry the meat or some ppl use the term "brown" it first then add sauce.

Jew Gal, the veggies have to be cooked first, or put them on frozen? Also, I like the cripiness on the potatoes, will that not happen & lastly, when do I take it out of the oven?

I think if I would make that recipe (and it sounds great) I would put the potatoes on top of the veggies.

Yeah only1 that sounds better. I've already browned the meat, made the pot & assembled it to bake today so I can't put the veggies underneath. I think I'll leave it for now & do it next time.

I just remembered, the veggies ARE the second layer embarrassed !!!

Mitzvahmom, sorry to have confused you, I hope too much didn't go to waste.

Momof3, I don't cook the veggies b4 hand and I don't put them in frozen either. I let it defrost a bit and then place in oven with the meat and potatoes.

Good Luck!

Oh I do it differently then I guess Confused I boil and mash potatoes rinse and season, add fryed onions corn or and peas . Then layer it in the pan with put the ground seasoned mashed meat ontop then relayer with the rest of the mashed potaotes so it comes out like a sandwich style we all love it three dishes in one Very Happy
And when we don't have here in yehupetzville that meat available I use the soy one

You should really brown the meat first. It's going to become very watery.
