I live in NY, not brooklyn. I'm looking for inexpensive shabbos clothes for my 8 month old boy. He's wearing 6-9 months, but I'm also looking for stuff for yomtov etc. I know children's place used to have stuff, but right now their stuff is very sporty or too expensive. I'm talking less than $20/outfit

My #1 place would be Target.
Try TJ Maxx or Marshall's.
Also, if you live near a Carter's, they are a little more money, but great stuff, and they have very good Labor Day sales (I remember last year, the Sunday and Monday of LD, they had something like 60% off clearance prices, 50% off regular prices. )
If you're willing to try, Walmart has a Carter's off-brand.
And, I love amazon.com!

Definitely Carter's. You can even order from online. My mom got the little guy some great Shabbos/YT outfits from Carter's, all less than $20.

I love carter's, but right now their stuff except for one or two outfits are really sporty or it is the same stuff as last year.
