Ok, OP, I thought about it again. You're right - I guess I do have the same issue and now that you mention it, I don't recall it being a problem at my parents' house. (I moved here right after I got married, so I was never responsible for keeping American toilets clean so I never really compared!)
I think the issue is the shape of the toilet. Israeli toilets are taller and narrower and American toilets are squatter. And I guess that's what creates the problem.
I think it's actually American toilets that use less water. Didn't they have that whole low-flush thing? Israeli big flushes use more water, I think - that's why you can flush down way more stuff here without need a plunger. I know an Israeli who told me that as a teen, she went with an organized group on a trip to America - and they all accidentally clogged their hosts' toilets! B/c they were used to being able to flush more down! I think it must be the shape of the toilet itself that causes the problem.
Sorry that this is no help - just analysis. I guess that does leave you with the choice of either brushing more frequently or replacing the toilets. Maybe you could replace just one and tell your family... Just kidding!
