I live in new york and have child health plus for my kids.
I have a doctor in new jersey that I would like to see them and do their routine physical checkup this time - for a specific issue.
is there any way of getting child health plus to cover it? do they have anything "out of network?" or maybe do I have to get a referel from their primary physican?
any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think there are any out of network benefits on CHP. They'd probably make an exception for some super-specialty where there's no doctor on the network who takes it, or like for anesthesiologists in NYC (most of whom don't take any insurance), but unless this dr. in NJ falls into that kind of category, you're not going to get coverage from CHP.
