I am making butternut squash muffins for a sheva brachas and I defrosted way to many butternut squash packages. Does anyone have a recipe for soup using frozen butternut squash?

I cube and freeze orange squash (butternut, pumpkin) when it is cheap. I make my soup the same way with it frozen as when I am using fresh.
Saute onions and garlic, add cubed orange squash, add water to cover, salt and pepper to taste and cook until tender. Blend and enjoy.

The type I have is already pureed and then frozen. I guess I can use the same sort of idea just skip out the blending part...

It should work. You may want to pure in the end to have a smooth soup, including the onions though.
